"What Has Happened To All Your Joy?"
When we come together to worship, what is the attitude that prevails? When we sing together and lift our voices to God, what do our voices reveal? While the message of God is delivered through the messenger, what does our response tell God and those around us? What is our body language saying? I hope and pray and encourage us all to answer these questions with one word if it is not the case already. Let us answer these questions with “Joy!” Joy that we are in the presence of God. Joy as we proclaim His praises and thanksgiving through song. Joy that we have God’s word not only on Sunday morning but during every minute of every day, right at our finger tips. When strangers see our faces, when friends hear our voices, our daily walk, our step along the street and our attitude to each and every situation we face; should our body language suggest anything other than joy?
By Glen Knabe I remember one day while conversing with a friend, I began to feel more and more aggravated, annoyed, even angry with the situation I found myself in. It was hard to function properly because of the feelings that were expressing themselves. I began to flip through the pages of my Bible and there it was. I had underlined it once before. Galatians 4:15. A simple question. “What has happened to all your joy?” The answer? I let Satan steal it. Only God offers joy. The world takes that away and offers anxiety and anger instead. Sometimes, as we come together on the Lord’s Day to worship our Father, I think we have brought to much of the world with us. Our joy is gone, stolen. All that steals our joy we are to leave at the cross, but many of us try to pick it back up and carry it with us everywhere we go, even to worship. To be in a relationship with God is a joyous thing. Let us be reminded of that as we worship this morning and when we leave, let’s take that joy with us and carry it around. May God bless you this week as you share His joy. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice!" Phil 4:4

To Go or Not To Go??
When Christian people awaken on Sunday morning, they ought not to begin the day by debating the question of attending church. Just in proportion as they are truly Christian, if they have strength and health, they feel it is a privilege and a duty to be there. It is hurtful to one’s moral and spiritual tone to live without any
definite rule in this matter and merely be governed by the temporary mood in which each Sunday happens to find you. There are some things that among Christians ought not to be left as perpetually open questions, but ought to be considered settled; and one of these is that it is the privileged duty of the Lord’s people on the Lord’s Day to worship God in his house. Let that duty, dear Christian people, be in your eyes a standing engagement, quite as incumbent on you as your home duties and the labors of your business or profession.

Crayons
We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors ... but they still all exist very nicely in the same box.

Approval
"Love suffers long and is kind; love ... does not rejoice in inequity, but rejoices in the truth."
Truth is a precious gift freely given to you and your family. It is simply yours for the taking. Telling the truth is the key to being known by each other and feeling the wondrous release of being wholly approved of by your loved ones. With true approval lies great peace. (Selected)
