Let Me Out Of Here                      "A Word from Ryan"

cartoon quip Three expectant fathers were sitting in the waiting room of the maternity ward. A nurse came and said to one of them, "Congratulations! Your wife has had twins!" "Wonderful," he said, "What a coincidence, I play with the Minnesota Twins ball team!"

The next nurse came out and said to the second of the expectant fathers, "Great news! Your wife has triplets!" "Great!" he said, "Another coincidence, you see, I work for the 3-M Company!"

At this point the third man leaped to his feet, grabbed his coat and hat and said, "Let me out of here! I work with 7-UP!"

Let us be thankful our lives are in the hands of Almighty God, who loves us and wants us to be saved.

The Necklace
The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box. “Oh Mommy please, can I have them??” Quickly her mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl’s upturned face. “A dollar ninety-five. That’s almost $2.00 If you really want them, I’ll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday’s only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma.” As soon as she got home, she emptied her penny bank and after dinner she did more than her share of chores and even went to the neighbor’s house to do chores. On her birthday, Grandma did give her a dollar and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace. She loved her pearls - they made her feel dressed up and grown up and she wore them everywhere. The only time she took them off was to take a bath because they might turn her neck green. He daddy read her a story every night and one night as he finished the story, he asked, “Do you love me?” She said “Yes Daddy, you know that I do!” open jewelry box “Then give me your pearls.” he said. She cried and offered him everything she had besides her pearls. Her Dad said “That’s OK, Honey, daddy loves you.” This went on for several weeks. Finally, one night when he asked for the pearls she tearfully gave them to him. As her dad reached for the pearls with one hand and in his other hand was a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls that he gave to her! He had them all the time, he was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine treasure. So it is, with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures.
