The Best Sermon                      "A Word from Ryan"

Many years ago a farmer had an unusually fine crop of grain. Just a few days before it was ready to harvest, a terrible wind storm destroyed it. The farmer and his little son went out on the porch after the storm. The little boy looked at what was formerly the beautiful field of wheat, and with tears in his eyes looked up at his dad, expecting to hear words of despair. All at once his father started to sing softly, “Rock of ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee.” Years after, the little boy, grown to manhood, said, “That was the greatest sermon I ever heard.” The farmer lost a grain crop, but gained a faithful son. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

Don’t miss it ... Make plans to attend!

He was just a little boy,
on a week’s first day
Wandering home from Sunday School,
Church
Little Boy And dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
he even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
and blew out all the “filler.”
A bird’s nest in a tree overhead,
so wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
that caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig-zag course,
Nest of Eggs
Little Boy and hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he’d been that day
and what was going on.
“I’ve been the Bible School,”
he said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
“I’ve learned a lot about God.”
“M’m very fine way,” the neighbor said,
“for a boy to spend his time.”
“if you’ll tell me where God is,
I’ll give you a brand new dime.”
Quick as a flash the answer came!
Hand holding Coin
Hand with Dollar Bill Nor were his accents faint.
I’ll give you a dollar Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain’t!
