Holden Avenue Minister Dedication
Sunday Morning, July 15, 2007
God has blessed Holden Avenue with Ryan Wilson and Glen Knabe, two ministers with servant hearts. These ministers have been chosen by God to minister the Word. God will provide them with grace and mercy. We as a congregation must pray for them and encourage them.

For over a year, Ryan has served this congregation well not only ministering to the youth and their families, but to all the members. He’s leading us in songs, has been preaching and coordination our speakers and has been handling other administrative duties as needed. Ryan’s faith in God, friendliness and energy are a blessing to this congregation.

Glen is now beginning his full-time work with this congregation as the pulpit minister. For the past several months he has helped Holden Avenue while we were looking for a pulpit minister. During this interim period he has preached and taught the Scripture with depth and clarity. Glen’s knowledge and ability to proclaim the Word is a blessing from God.

The elders encourage this congregation to give their wholehearted support to Ryan and Glen and their families as they feed the flock of God. Please make every effort to come next Sunday morning, July 15 to pray for and encourage them in the work of the Lord.

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT
THIS COURT CASE?
In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the reparation of Easter and Passover holidays. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The case was brought before a wise judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared "Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, "Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday!" The lawyer pompously said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?"

The judge said, "Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as ' April Fools Day,' consider that Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture he is a fool, thus April 1st is his holiday! Get it?"

PRAY THAT SOME DAY OUR COURTS WILL BE FULL OF THESE KIND OF JUDGES ... MAYBE THEN, WE CAN PUT GOD BACK WHERE HE BELONGS --- IN EVERYTHING WE DO ... Way to go, Judge!
