My Happiness

two ladies My happiness lies in sharing
all that I possess,
That it may bring to others
a bit of happiness.
My happiness lies in caring
for someone who needs
the hope that I may give them
in love, and words and deeds.
My happiness lies in knowing
that when my day is done,
I have sought to help someone
find their place in the sun.

Wit & Wisdom On Baptism                      "A Word from Ryan"

The God that we serve is truly a great and awesome God. man having car trouble Water is important in a man's life. God created water first, then He created man out of dust. Without water, dust wouldn't stick. There is power in the water. There's water in a car. There's power in that water. If you don't believe it, try going home without it in the radiator and you've got a burnt up car. Now, try to get a man to go to Heaven without water and you've got a burnt up man. Try going to Heaven without water, and you've got a burnt up church. Some say you're saved before baptism. Christ said, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Now, you can't say you're saved before baptism - besides, you're calling God a liar. You can't go to Heaven calling God a liar. You can call me a liar, but not Him. Some say, "A man is saved and then baptized." A woman doesn't wash clothes because they are already clean. I've seen a lot of smart women, but not that smart. She washes clothes because they are dirty. pills and bottles Man is baptized because he's dirty and needs to be cleansed. The gospel is made up of five "pills" that will cure anything: first pill - "hear"; second pill - "believe"; third pill - "repent"; fourth pill - "confess"; fifth pill - "baptism". Take 'em with water, and they'll cure sin.  "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16).  (Article written by the late brother Marshall Keeble.)

Dear Holden Avenue Family,

I know it must have seemed like a long time from the first of June when you all gave me the farewell get together until I finally left Newport!! Little did I know it was going to take so long to get the final papers signed, sealed & delivered! I love attending church at Sunset congregation here. I feel right at home and everyone is so friendly. They have a ladies sewing class on Monday and a Tuesday ladies Bible class. I miss all of you and I am so thankful for the farewell get together. The money tree held $385.00 - so thank you all! It sure helped with the move. I love you all! God bless you all!! Ivon Turner

An Opportunity to Serve

In recent days, an opportunity to serve has surfaced in Jackson County. On Sunday, September 23rd, at 4:00pm in the small auditorium, you are invited to learn more about this opportunity. Kim Black, a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ in Searcy and Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice, will conduct a presentation on becoming a Hospice volunteer. As a Hospice volunteer, one is able to minister to the needs of those that are terminally ill, as well as to their families. These needs are often spiritual ones. The program is open to both men and women and Kim will be able to answer any questions that might arise after the presentation. This is ministry in its purest form, to look after the needs of others. By doing so, the seed of God’s word and His love are sown, and according to I Corinthians 3:6-7, God is the one who will make things grow.
