"Spring" - Part 1
By Glen Knabe
Spring: n. The season between winter and summer.
The miracle of the earth is indeed displayed through Spring; the leaves, the grass, the trees, the flowers. They all die yet are raised up again by the power of God, year after year. Each comes back, thicker, taller, and more beautiful than before. Truly, with Spring, the entire earth, reaches out and gives praise to God! The trees lift their branches to the sky, praising God, in all of their majesty. The wind, too, sends a gentle breeze that whistles a tune of praise through the leaves and the grass. The birds soar high into the air, singing their songs of praise, thanking God for their daily provisions. The waters move gently along the lands giving life to all of God’s creation, trickling over the rocks and whispering praise in their own melody. All proclaiming the glory of God through language understood by all the world yet never heard with human ears (Ps 19:1-4).
Each Spring, the earth gives us a visual reminder of the miracle of life, the gift of God. How fitting it is, that during this yearly miracle, another miracle would take place that would not only remind us of the miracle of life, but also give it meaning. It only makes sense that while the resurrection of nature is taking place, the resurrection of the one who created it takes place as well. Of what meaning is spring without the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Of what meaning is any season without the resurrection of Christ? Of what meaning is life itself without the resurrection of Christ? As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:17, “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins.”

Missions Ministry
The functions of the missions ministry are many since most of the work of the Lord’s church can be labeled missions. For many years we have supported a church in Yasanavotina, Ukraine. While they have grown spiritually and are beginning to support themselves they still need our help supporting a local minister. In addition we also help with orphan homes and the purchase of Bibles for Ukrainians as new towns are visited each year. We also support Panama missions, several student unions (UCA, ASU & U of A), the church at Fort Defiance, AZ, and a Christian school in Zambia, Nigeria. In addition to these we also support people from our congregation and friends & family members of our congregation to go on mission trips. David May | ||

Some Things To Think On
Never neglect daily prayer. When you pray, remember that God is present, and He hears you. Never neglect daily private Bible reading. When you read, remember that God is speaking to you, and you are to believe and act upon what He says. If you are in doubt whether a thing is right or wrong, go to God and ask for help in making your decision the right one. Never take your standard of Christianity from other Christians, or argue because this or that person does something, you may. Ask yourself, “What would Christ do?” Strive to follow Him. Never believe what you feel if it contradicts God’s Word. Ask yourself: “Can what I feel be true if God’s Word is true?” Both cannot be true - believe God, and make yourself the liar.
