Hello Church                  "A Word from Ryan"
Today begins our Gospel Meeting with Brother Steve Reeves. I am really excited about this week and hope you are as well. The theme of the meeting is “Looking For Something More.” Many today are looking for more but they are looking in the wrong places. People are filling their lives up with drugs, alcohol, and many other addictions that are works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). People are looking for things and they are looking for the wrong things in life or in the wrong places and they are filling their lives up with sin. Why not fill your life up with the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Christ is so much better than worldly and fleshly things. The theme of the book of Hebrews is that Christ is better and that is so true. God loves us so much and He will give us so much more that will last for an eternity, folks. Instead of filling your life with the way of the world, why not try Jesus? In Christ we find SIGNIFICANCE, LOVE, HOPE, PEACE, SALVATION and ENCOURAGEMENT. I HOPE EVERYONE HERE WILL COME AND SUPPORT OUR MEETING. Do not forget to invite your friends, family, etc. This is a great time to share Jesus with those who do not know Him. Have a great day and God bless! God loves you, I love you, and let’s go to Heaven together!

The Power of Words
A careless word may kindle strife.
A cruel word may wreck a life.
A bitter word may hate instill.
A brutal word may smite and kill.
A gracious word may smooth the way.
A joyful word may light the day.
A timely word may lesson stress.
A loving word may heal and bless.

Shower Committee

The Shower Committee tries very hard to stay abreast of all the weddings and births in our Holden Avenue family. Once we learn of an event, we coordinate with the family and the church office to select a date that the church is free to host a shower. There are a lot of “behind the scenes” activities that happen to ensure a successful shower; scheduling the event, announcing it and putting it in the bulletin, decorating the auditorium, providing the cake and punch and finally, the clean up. If you know of any weddings or births in our Holden Avenue family or would enjoy becoming a shower hostess, please notify the church office. The church facilities are also open to anyone wishing to host a shower. Please check with the church office to schedule events.
Confess Christ ... Matthew 10:32 - Be Baptized ... Mark 16:16 - Live faithfully ... Revelation 2:10

Kids Humor

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, “Don’t be scared, you’ll get your quilt.” Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the minister stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning’s Sunday school lesson was about. He said, “Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming.”

Kids Humor

A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question, “Boys and girls, what do we know about God?”

A hand shot up in the air, “He is an artist!” said a kindergarten boy.

“Really? How do you know?” the teacher asked.

“You know - Our Father, who does art in Heaven...”
