"Shall I Make My Children Go To Church?"
By Glen Knabe This morning, as we gather to worship and praise God, let us thank Him for the precious gifts He has blessed us with through our children. And, as we consider how we may bring them up in the training and instruction of our Lord, may the following words remind us of our responsibilities as parents. They were written by J. Edgar Hoover. Shall I make my child go to church? Yes, and with no further discussion about the matter. Are you startled? Why? How do you answer Junior when he comes to breakfast and Monday morning and announces to you that he is not going to school anymore? You know! Junior goes! How do you answer him when he comes in very be smudged and says: "I’m not going to take a bath." Junior bathes, doesn’t he? Why all this timidity then in the realm of this spiritual guidance and growth? Going to wait and let him decide what church he will go to when he is old enough? Quit kidding! You didn’t wait until you were old enough. You didn’t wait until he was old enough to decide if he wants to takes medicine when he is sick. What will you say when Junior announces he does not like to go to church? That’s easy to answer. Just be consistent. Tell him, "Junior, in our family we all go to church and that includes you!" Your firmness and example will furnish a bridge over which youthful rebellion travels into rich and satisfying experiences in personal religious living. The parents of America can strike a telling blow against the forces which contribute to our juvenile delinquency, if our mothers and fathers will take their children to worship our Lord regularly.

There will be a baby shower in honor of
BUT . . .
The Sunday paper is not delivered ‘till Sunday." There was quite a pause on the other end of the phone followed by a ray of recognition. "So that’s why no one was in church today."
Everyone is invited to stay after our evening service for food, games and fun! Pizza & drinks will be provided.
There will be a movie for the smaller children and games for the bigger kids!! ALL AGES are invited!!
September 23rd they will prepare Care Packages for our troops. All donations of postage money, homemade cookies and other items will be greatly appreciated!! A list of needed items is displayed on the bulletin board.
